Gefilte Fish
Tip: Don’t make this late Friday afternoon – unless you have more then 4 hours to cool, otherwise it won’t be ready for Shabbos.
Materials
- 1 loaf of frozen gefilte fish
- 2 carrots or a handful of baby carrots
- 1 onion
- Salt and Pepper
Instructions
- Boil a lot of water in a pot with the onion, carrots, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Once the water is boiling add the fish with wax paper wrapper on it
- Leave on a medium flame for an hour and fifteen minute – 1 ½ hours
- After allotted time (as specified on fish package) wait for water to cool a bit and then “fish” out the fish, carrots and onions
- Put in a container or tin with tin foil – make sure its covered so it doesn’t dry out.
- Refrigerate until cool and enjoy.
Until next time,
Shaindy
