It’s hard to believe it, but we survived all of yom tov! Since we were away for all of the yomim tovim, but home in between, it feels like most of our time was spent unpacking, doing laundry and re-packing. I lightly modified my packing list and printed a new one for each yom tov, even Yom Kippur, which was only one night. The list was a lifesaver and the only things we forgot were either not on the list or so insignificant, we lived without it.
I’m not really sure if there’s anything I’d change for next year, but always wonder if it would be easier to stay home. I like going away for the socialization, the extra help with the kids and the fact that I don’t have to cook, but that also means that we don’t eat as healthy as we’d like and everyone is over-tired and off schedule. We also don’t have our own beds with us, so most nights I slept very uncomfortably with two little boys right next to me. (They are cute and cuddly, but still have to learn that we don’t sleep horizontally.)
I guess we’ll just take it one year at a time 🙂
How was your yom tov? Is there anything you’d change for next year?
Until next time,
Shaindy
