This Shabbos we’ll be hosting our friends who were displaced by Hurricane Sandy. I’m excited that they’re coming, but sad that it took such a huge superstorm to get them to come!
On a happier note, it’s DS2’s birthday today! He’s 2 years old and super cute, although not sure he really understands what it means that it’s his birthday. In any case, I sent mini cupcakes with yellow frosting to daycare to celebrate. I bought yellow frosting, because yellow is his favorite color!
So, here’s what’s on the menu this week:
Friday Night:
- Sushi (gift from our guests)
- Salad
- Roasted chicken with potatoes and sweet potatoes
- Apple kugel (store-bought)
- Spinach bourekas (store-bought)
Shabbos Lunch:
- Gefilte fish
- Salad
- Deli
- Cholent with kishka
- Sweet noodle kugel
- Broccoli kugel
The menu is simple, but I know that these are foods our guests, as well as our family enjoys. I don’t think there’ll be too many leftovers, but if there are, that’s one less meal I have to make next week!
Hope everyone has a good Shabbos!
Until next time,
Shaindy
