I thought being on maternity leave would give me tons of free time to do the things I like (including blogging), but I forgot that maternity leave usually includes a very needy newborn baby. So far, I haven’t accomplished as much as I had wanted, but I did get to organize the bedroom and hallway closets, which oddly makes me really happy.
Cooking for Shabbos is another thing I thought I’d have more time for. This week, though, since we all have really bad colds, I am not cooking… back to the freezer it is!
Friday Night:
- Stuffed cabbage (store-bought)
- Rice
- Butternut squash kugel (freezer)
Shabbos Lunch:
- Turkey chops
- Potato knish kugel (freezer)
Dessert will be banana chocolate chip cupcakes. Yesterday, on Taanis Esther, we happened to have over-ripe bananas and a really bored 3.5 year old. Dessert crisis solved!
One more thing I had time to do was plan our Shalach Manos for Purim this coming Sunday. Hope to post more on that next week!
Have a good Shabbos!
Until next time,
Shaindy
