Being on maternity leave is so different than working full-time. I still don’t plan fancy Shabbos menus, but just spend an abnormal amount of time cooking- or so it seems. For the past few weeks I have been spending my entire Thursday cooking. It’s like since I have time on my hands, I just spend more time doing the things I’ve always done.
The past few Fridays have been so hectic (even though Shabbos is getting later) I haven’t had time to post my menus. We’ve had some pretty yummy (and simple) food and I hope to repeat some of those menus when I go back to work after Pesach. I also have to be more on top of my freezer cooking and stock up on groceries so I don’t have to do a large shopping every week, like I do now. Oh, the joys of maternity leave 😉
Here’s what’s on the menu this week:
Friday Night:
- Gefilte Fish
- Teriyaki chicken
- Zucchini kugel (freezer)
- Honey glazed carrots
Shabbos Lunch:
- Gefilte Fish
- Meatloaf muffins (freezer)
- Butternut squash kugel (freezer)
- Broccoli slaw salad
