This weeks Shabbos menu theme? Using up the ingredients we already had!
A while back I bought a London broil, but never made it. I decided that it’s a meat kinda week and I am making it! We had half a bag of cranberries leftover as well as half a bag of potatoes from Chanuka latkes. So, into the Shabbos cooking plans they went.
And this is what I ended up with:
Friday night:
- London broil
- Potato knish kugel
- Sweet potatoes
Shabbos lunch:
- Chicken with grilled veggies
- Homemade cranberry sauce
- Whole wheat couscous

I had a theme one time that I can remember – and it was before nursing school, marriage, or baby. (This was also when I could remember things better, so maybe there was one other time??) This is one area in which I know my limits and keep it simple!
