Whenever my kids misbehave my first thought is that it’s because I don’t spend enough time with them. If I were home more, these things wouldn’t happen.
If only I would read more to them…
If only I would give them healthier snacks…
If only I would encourage them to play more…
If only I would have cooked better dinners…
If only…
And the list goes on and on and on.
Then I take a step back and realize that kids with stay-at-home moms also misbehave.
Those kids also have “issues.”
They need speech therapy, fight with their siblings and don’t clean up their toys.
Kids are kids. No one is perfect.
My kids misbehave. While everything happens for a reason, it doesn’t always happen because I work.
Until next time,
Shaindy
I can attest this! I am a stay-at-home/work-at-home mom…my kids are like every other kid. But I do sometimes think that I should choose to spend more quality time with them like reading and playing with them.
I’m the type of person that doesn’t like to waste time. If I can be accomplishing, then…I should be accomplishing, which often takes time away from just hanging with the kids.
I totally agree… so hard to just “sit” and play when there are so many things that need to get done.
