It’s been quite a while since I posted one of these! My menus haven’t changed much, but the time I have to cook them has. With new work responsibilities and kids who are staying up later and later, it’s been hard to spend time by myself, so posting has taken a slight back-seat.
I cannot believe that camp is over and the school year has almost started! This year we will have 2 kids in yeshiva, so childcare will continue to be a challenge.
This past week DS1 didn’t have camp/school so he spent the week with my parents. Next week all 3 boys are off, so I have a rotation of who will watch them and when. I usually wait to make the arrangements until the very last minute, but this time around the plans were made weeks ago, so I’ve been cool as a cucumber.
So, without further ado, here’s what we’re eating this Shabbos:
Friday night:
- Gefilte fish
- Stuffed cabbage (Costco, store-bought)
- Rice
- Kugel (store-bought)
Shabbos lunch:
- Gefilte fish
- Schnitzel
- Broccoli kugel
- Sweet potatoes
How do you handle childcare for the time between camp and school? Are you looking forward to the start of the new school year? Dreading it?
Until next time,
Shaindy
I relied on the amazing chesed of neighbors and friends. Hashem just sent me people who were so happy to take both kids (toddler and baby) cause they liked having little ones around. Also we went to someone for payment. And there were a couple very last minute days.
And I am very much looking forward to the school year! A day off will be a day to myself 🙂 Plus they love gan and metapelet 🙂
Wow, I’m so happy for you that your childcare arrangements all worked out- and some of it was even free! I’m with you on the school year starting- I’m really excited for my boys to start the new school year and for them to learn so many new things!
