There have only been a handful of times in the past when my kids had school and I had off from work. While I most certainly looked forward to those days I can now look forward to the days when my kids and I have off from work/school together.
Veteran’s Day used to be that day. I knew I’d be home alone all day and would plan every minute. Those days used to be dedicated to cooking my elaborate KosherOAMC plans and the effort was well worth it.
So, now that we all have off on Veteran’s Day I will not be cooking like I used to. Instead I’ve decided to spend my time doing the following 3 things:
- I’m not getting out of bed before 8am
- We’re going to Costco on a non-Sunday
- I’m taking the kids to the dentist in the middle of the day
While it may not be the most exciting day for the kids, I can’t say the same for myself. Not having to balance between work and family for even one day is something that I’m excited about. Little things, like an extra day off, can make all the difference.
Until next time,
Shaindy
