Finding Time to Get My Shaitel Styled

One issue that keeps cropping up around every 6 weeks is finding time to get my shaitel (wig) done. #firstworldproblems

When I first got married I took a wash your own shaitel class. It taught me how to wash, blow dry, and curl it on my own.

The class was well worth it. I used to wash my own shaitel on a regular basis until I got an expensive one. I was too scared to do it on my own, even to play around with it. It was a fortune to have is washed, but was worth it, because it always came out stunning.

My abilities in this area were less than average, so sometimes I had to pay for better results.

Fast forward a few years and I decided to go with a less expensive shaitel. The hair is similar to my older shaitel and I told myself not to be scared of it! If the style comes out all wrong I can always bring it to someone who knows what she’s doing. But in the meantime I washed it myself and curled it. And after trying a curling technique I watched on Instagram, I was able to make beach waves too.

Not only does this save me money, but it also saves me loads of time. I don’t need to make appointments or coordinate drop-off.

When my shaitel needs to be washed, I usually wash it on Thursday night. It dries next to my bathroom sink and then I set it on Saturday night or Sunday. I work from home on Fridays so this works well for me. I can go from one work day to the next with the same hair 🙂

When do you find time to get your hair/shaitel done? How do you coordinate with your work schedule?

Until next time,
Shaindy
