Last year, due to Covid, my department hosted a virtual “Take Your Kids to Work” day. I had never brought my kids to work, so thought this was a great option since it took place after my kids got home from school.
The program was adorable and well executed. The kids got to introduce themselves and meet other people that I work with.
My favorite part was when they had the kids draw a picture of what they thought their parents did at work and what their office looked like. Here’s what DS2 drew:
What I love about this picture is its simplicity… and accuracy. I work in an office that is mostly cubicles, pretty standard for the corporate world, so this made me laugh.
Do your kids view your work accurately? Do they know what you spend your day doing?
Until next time,
