How I Started Freezer cooking
As a full time working mom with three small kids, I barely had time to eat, let alone cook! After a long, hectic day, I wanted to come home to a homemade meal. If only I had time to prepare one! That’s when my internet research on work-life balance for the busy homemaker led me to once a month cooking. I fell in love with the idea. I knew I could totally do it!
Why I Freezer Cook
While my freezer cooking style has changed over time, the concept is the same – cook once, eat twice. I didn’t need to be convinced to try it, but in case you do, here are some of the benefits:
- Less Mess– since all the cooking’s already been done, the only mess you have is from empty dinner plates!
- Faster meal prep– defrost and re-heat. Is there anything faster?
- Always prepared for the unexpected– there’s always back-up dinner in the freezer ready to go
- Save money– buy in bulk
- Healthier eating- no need for for fast food. Dinner’s already prepared
Kosher Menu Plans
There were so many online resources with pre-made cooking plans. Problem was that all the prepared menu plans I found weren’t kosher and many contained foods my kids refused to eat.
So, I got to work and made my own freezer cooking plans. Now, after all the hard work, I’m so glad to be able to share them with you. Each menu plan includes everything you need to get started with kosher freezer cooking or as I like to call it, kosher once a month cooking (KOAMC). Spend more time with your family and less time in the kitchen!
